There is a combination of a loaded baked potato and side salad which I love that you can get with pulled pork on top of the potato. You seem to have a well developed taste for sweet like I do. So when I order this I always ask for a small container of brown sugar sauce to pour over the pork. It is yummy and really moistens up the pork. I love that chocolate cake too!! Enjoy!

Dear The Restaurants at My End of the Universe.

Thank you for coming out to try our Tasty Thai cafe. I appreciated your business and your comment that will make us serve you better in the future.

We are trying to adjust following the customer need. Most of customer cannot handle real Thai taste. ( HOT and lots of ingredients/seasoning ) I would like to recommend every customer please let us know if they would like to have a real Thai taste.

Lad Nar and all Noodle dishes are the dish that each person have to put their own spice into the dish. We have a spice tray for serving Noodle dishes.

I hope to see you here again and wish to make you happy with our dishes next time.

Regards,
Kay

Heh. You've never worked fast food. That "efficiency" you speak of is the norm, you just don't normally see it because it's more hidden than in the open kitchen layout at 5 Guys. When I worked at Wendy's many, many years ago, we'd start tossing burgers on the grill when people when they pulled into the drive-through lane or walked in the door. If they happened to all order chicken? The burgers went into the chili!

To be a little clearer... they were out of the stuffed mushroom appetizer. That's fine, I can accept that. What bugged me was that our waiter gave about 10 minutes to look over the menu and decide what we wanted... then he (finally) comes back and announces the specials (would have been nice to know before I'd decided on something else)... and casually tells me that "they no longer offer" the sirloin steak that is on their menu. And it's not just a casual item on the menu, they take up about 1/4 page telling you several different ways they can make it with different sauces.

What's tackier? Taking a marker to your menu to line through products that are no longer sold, or letting your customer decide that he wants a $14 steak only to be told that the only option is a $20 steak? He even told us that the new menus were printed and just hadn't been put out yet... like that's supposed to make me feel better about it.

Our waiter was on of those who exists on a different time plane. In his mind, I'm sure he thinks he's doing everything right, checking on all of their tables, asking all the right questions, offering friendly chit-chat. But, in reality, he's so far behind and leaving such long gaps between visits that his questions are generally mistimed (like mysteriously appearing to ask if we'd like grated cheese on our food after we're half-way done with it instead of being there to ask when the food was brought out) and our patience was so far gone by the end of the meal that his chit-chat was just viewed as a further waste of our time.

Overall, the food was hit or miss. The calamari was good with an outstanding dipping sauce. The steak was a really good cut (though it was far closer to "rare" than the "medium" that I ordered). But, most everything else was mediocre at best, and for the price, presentation was severely lacking.

I tasted Cathy's Fettucini Alfredo, it definitely wasn't right. She thought it was salty, I think it was just some sort of sharp cheese. Flavor aside, the texture was completely wrong. I don't even much like Alfredo, but I know it's supposed to be creamy! The waiter saw the nearly untouched plate and asked if there was anything wrong with it... and after being told, he did nothing about it. To me, that's a sign that somebody doesn't care. (why did he bother even asking?)

This is another of those restaurants with a lot of potential to be good, but misses the mark by a lot in a few key areas... but, due to their location, they stay busy and successful, so they're not likely to ever improve. I'm certainly not going to waste another 90 minutes of my life to find out.
